Be Lenka are undoubtably one of the most popular barefoot brands on the market. They are also known as being one of the widest barefoot shoe options on the market.
Handmade in Europe with a focus on innovation and sustainability, they have a range of sandals, sneakers, work shoes and boots and cater to both adults and kids.
The Fit
Be Lenka creates shoes in a range of materials including both high quality leather and vegan options. They now have a number of different sole designs with varying shape, flexibility and function. You can read more about them here.
They are generally a slope shaped design but due to the extra width, they can accommodate many other foot shapes. Most of their models will work for medium volume feet but some are best suited to low volume (like the wool-lined boots, Champ and Eazy sneakers) and some are more suited to high volume (Prime and Icon)
In terms of length, they run quite true to size. Wool and fleece lined winter boots can be snug and you may like to size up.
Considerations
Some of the sneaker options will allow too much room around the ankle for low volume or really narrow feet. You can usually work around this easily with an extra insole or tongue pad to ensure a secure fit.
